Bryan Adams At The Villa Marina

Tickets for Bryan Adams at the Villa Marina sold out within a few hours of going on sale yesterday morning and demand was so high Manx Telecom reported problems with the phone system being overloaded.

Jimmy might be over simplifying the problem but can’t understand why they don’t book these big acts for a couple of nights instead of just the one?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great we have the Villa Marina and it’s great we get some tops acts over but not being able to get a ticket when an act is playing on your door step is almost as bad as them not coming at all!

Jimmy thinks he’s exaggerating a little there but hopefully you catch the drift.

The guy I bought my Kaiser Chief tickets from told me he had queued from 7am but it had been worth it as he’d sold all 6 tickets. Assuming he sold the the first 4 for the same as I paid him for the last 2, he made a very nice profit for his 2 or 3 hours work sat in a queue.

At least the Bryan Adams tickets were limited to 4 per customer so the guy above won’t be making quite so much profit this time around.

Personally I would like to see it limited to 2 tickets per customer and why in this day and age you can’t link a name to each ticket is beyond me.

They have satellites in space which are so powerful they can tell if you pass wind while you’re walking down Strand Street yet they can’t come up with a system that prevents ticket touts buying up all the tickets, go figure!
